WTN: Rosehall Run Chardonnay Sur Lie 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Aug 06, 2010 10:23 am

VQA Ontario

Light yellow, with green tints, in the glass.

Light sulphur and caramel on the nose.

Medium weight, pear, lemon, crisp green apple, spicy, tangy acidity, toasty, rich and delicious.

A mouthwatering finish with green apple and citrus peel.

A very impressive wine.

Screwcap closure.

Purchashed on sale at $12 (Canadian).

Hi Bruce,

Isn't this a Prince Edward County wine? Do you think they are making good value wines now?

Yes, it is a PEC wine, although the label merely states VQA Ontario. I have had a few good wines from this area, but not enough to form an opinion.

They used to stay at our B&B in Maine when we were running it. Wish we could get it down here. Sigh! Will look for it on our next trip north.
