WTN: 2004 Dujac Fils & Père Gevrey-Chambertin

2004 Dujac Fils & Père Gevrey-Chambertin 13.5%
Dang, this was GOOD! A previous bottle was marred by brett, but this was way more than I had led myself to expect from a négociant villages. Enticing aromas of dark berry with bacon, iron and damp forest floor. Perfect acid/sweet balance, bright acidity, classy fruit, no hint of oak or excess alcohol, all brought to a close by a deft bitter finish that kept excessive friendliness at bay. Last night the perfect was not the enemy of the good.
"I went on a rigorous diet that eliminated alcohol, fat and sugar. In two weeks, I lost 14 days." Tim Maia, Brazilian singer-songwriter.

Thanks for the note, that sounds delicious (and a reminder that I haven't had a Burg in quite a while). And always nice to hear about other green-free '04s.

Thanks, I have a bottle of the 01 I should pop soon. I'd actually decided to stop buying the negoce Dujacs, but this note makes me reconsider

Got mine at half price but regular price is way too high. Strangely enough, Sherry-Lehmann lists 07 domaine at only $10 above 07 négoce.

Thanks Oswaldo! I got three of these bottles and I'll start to tuck into them in the fall based on your notes.
