A novelty for me--a white Savigny-Les-Beaune.
Some time ago Jen at Carolina Wine Company recommended this to me and gave me a small taste. That was enough incentive to purchase a bottle.
13% alcohol on the label. It also says in French that the vineyards are managed in such a way as to protect the environment. After a prolonged elevage in oak casks, the wine is bottled without filtration or fining.
Medium gold color--coppery gold around the rim. Tasty mix of fruit and mineral. Tart apple with suggestions of fruit cocktail. Really very nice. It is holding up nicely and may be in its prime. Not a lot of complexity but a refreshing white Burgundy where the oak is not very noticeable. Better the first two evenings after opening.
