So long (for now)

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Sep 13, 2006 1:44 pm

For reasons I won't get into here, I have decided to "take a break" from wine for a little while. Not sure how long, but the Ottawa Wine and Food Show is scheduled for Nov. 3-5, so that seems like a pretty good target to shoot for.

Will continue to drop in and see what everyone is chatting about but, since I won't have any WTNs to share, I will kind of feel like the only clothed person at an orgy.

Cheers.

Bruce, I hope this is something you are doing because you want to, and is not health related. I hope you do keep checking with us, maybe join us on the Sunday chat at 4PM Eastern time.

Take a break Bruce and we wish you well. Gonna miss all those reports on $13.95 Cdn wines. I like to think we have built a good friendship here.

There are a number of reasons, one of which is "sort of" health related, in that I think I might have a better chance at dropping a few pounds if I cut out the booze for a little while. I can't eat and drink liked I did when I was 25.

Thanks for the kind words Bob. Never really noticed before, but I guess that, for the LCBO, $13.95 has become the new $10. I like trying out different things from all over and, it seems to me, there is whole world to explore at, what is for me, the lower to mid-price point.

I value your friendship and all the other connections I have made it.

As my subject line says, I will be back.

Take care.

Hey, somebody has to do it! :)

Thanks for letting us know, Bruce. It's always sad when one of our pals drops out without a word. Enjoy your hiatus, and we'll look forward to the return of your TNs in the autumn. Meanwhile, don't be shy about jumping in with your clothes on ... or share some jokes in The Basement!

Maybe some of us will double up while you are on sabbatical Bruce. That way, the market will think everything has stayed the same. Buon opportuno.

I often take a short hiatus on wine drinking (1-2 weeks), usually when my wife is away (caretaking an elderly mother). It does indeed help with the battle of the waistline and I find that the wines taste better after a break. I don't know if I'd want to go more than two weeks though. Good luck.

Enjoy the break, Burce. And come back -- refreshed and full of fun as always.

Regards, Bob
