Dinner at Moshi Moshi in Northampton,MA. 2nd best sushi, but he did let us byo...

Jose Dhondt Bl de Bl NV- 1st Dhondt I'd had, so precise and light, the term lacy was used a few times around the table. Truly special for NV.

Nigl Riesling Privat 2000- Dry and perfumed, very slight hint of petrol, but great fruit and now harmony, I had three bottles and this is the first, so glad I waited...

Soucherie Anjou Blanc 2009- failed to write down the specific name of the cuvee. Came off skinny after the previous, good freshness, nice match with the sushi, but the acid and mineral are a bit dominant right now

Rolly Gassman Gewurz 03- so bright I thought it might be Muscat, alas...a touch soapy the way Gewurz can be, some at the table didn't like it, but not me, I thought it was particularly well-balanced for an 03.

Z-H Gewurz Heimbourg 1999- very rich and sweet, too much for me, a Mollydooker white...

El Brozal Rioja Blanco 2008- I didn't bring this, so it was interesting to taste it blind, I knew the wine for sure and after a minute I was able to nail it. I thought it tasted great. Disclosure- I am a partner in the ownership of this wine.

Nigl stole the show for me, we didn't vote for a WOTN

Glad to hear of a 2000 Austrian performing so well. It's a highly variable vintage, and some have not held up. Perhaps it's time to broach the last of my '97 Nigl Riesling Privat.

We really enjoy Osaka, the service is not really friendly, but the food is truly great.

Looks good. Thanks. I spent a good amount of the year in Amherst/Northampton, and admittedly I rarely go out to eat when I'm up there because I'm always cooking. So I'm not up-to-date on all the places to eat, but this sounds good.
