Beaux Freres Pinot Noir Beaux Freres Vineyard 2002 - Mostly strawberry on the nose. Strawberry, raspberry, sour cherry, chocolate and leather on the palate. Bright, prickly acidity. Very dry and long finish. By itself, a little too spiky for my taste due to the acidity but perfect match with the duck confit, the food taming the acidity, ramping up the sweetness on the fruit and revealing an earthy note that went nicely with the lentils. Probably as good as it will get.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
