My first Vermont wine

And it was triffic....

Shelburne Vineyards Cayuga White 2008 from Vermont

Really dry and crisp with lime, lemon and tropical fruit flavours. Delightful with fish and seafood.

Cayuga White is a hybrid developed by New York's Geneva Research station. It's often found made sweet or off dry in Finger Lakes but this was completely dry and had enough flavour to offer without RS.

Cayuga is one of my favorite grapes, and I'm not limiting that to hybrids. I've been making wine from Cayuga for 30 years and now have some vines growing in my yard. As you point out, it makes a good dry wine but it blends well with other hybrids (Vignoles and Vidal in particular) and a very nice sparkling wine. One interesting fact about Cayuga is that it's immediate vinefera parent is Zin.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Oops - I knew it was in there. OK - Zin is the grandpa.
