FWS Conference, Washington, DC

by Richard Fadeley OLD » Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:46 pm

I will be at the French Wine Society conference next week in DC if anyone else will be there. Try to look me up if you're there.
I know Hoke is active and I would enjoy meeting any others. It is as well presented as the Society of Wine Educators conference, which is also in DC this year, at the end of the same week. I can't be there for that this year, but will be there for next year's meeting.
These are both very well run and informative organizations.

Sorry I won't be there this year, Richard, as I have a conflicting event I have to atted (i.e., getting paid for it).

What a great lineup it is too. I'm really going to feel bad that I missed out on all the good stuff, and all the good friends.

You're in luck I think the temperature here is only supposed to be really damned hot next week. A notch down from our current moistened blast furnace level.

Shows how weird the weather is, Kelly: the International Pinot Noir Conference is going on this week here in the Willamette, and for a change it's not over 100F!

Wonder how all that Pinot tastes when you're not dripping in sweat and keeling over from heat exhaustion?

Funny thing is when it gets this hot I usually complete forgo the vino, but I had a hankerin' last night for a little rose and I found that the Lirac I had been sitting on fit the bill right nice.

It honestly is stupid hot today. They've opened up the emergency cooling centers around town.
