2-002 William Hill reserve Napa Valley Cabernet

I like a touch of funk/brett, so the nose was right up my alley. I really liked the nose. Color showed a hint of bricking. Palate was overall pretty nice, with good fruit and some structure. Not as fresh or multifaceted as the Peter Franus wine the previous night, and there was that hint of souring fruit...just a hint...that suggests this would have been better six months previously. Disappointing, as the wine was a "reserve" bottling :? and had been stored quite well in Napa off-site cold storage. Overall, though, very enjoyable even if not as good as the previous tasting. 88 (versus 92 for the Franus).
