To give its full designation, Bodegas Ercavio Mas Que Vinos La Plazuela 2004. Vino de la Tierra de Castilla. Very dark with lots of sediment. A little hot on the nose. Chocolate and wet leaves mostly with a bit of berry mixed in. Already rather soft in terms of tannin but it has a very bright acidity that keeps it from being flabby. There's a very faint herbal note mixed in with some meatiness and raspberry. This is very likely close to peak now although a year or two might give it more complexity. It's not a particularly exciting wine but it is well made, balanced, and enjoyable now. Good length. 85% Cencibel (Tempranillo), 15% Garnacha.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
