WTN: 2006 Domaine de la Noblaie Chinon

by Brian K Miller » Mon Jul 19, 2010 11:07 am

"Les Chiens-Chiens"

Dark purple with ruby notes. Very rich red and black plum fruit. Chalky notes and herbal elements...rosemary???? under the red plum fruit. Certainly shows Loire Cab Franc typicite, but the green-notes add freshness and are not obnoxious. Delicious with grilled chicken skewers and wild rice. Would buy again.

While bicycling Friday:

William Harrison 2006 Estate (Rutherford) Cabernet Sauvignon. No detailed notes (a quick stop while cycling) but this 2006 Cabernet was really singing Friday afternoon. Delicious red berry, black fruit, licorice, tobacco, earth. Good acidity. When first released, the Cab was rather thin and unremarkable. It has really come around in the last six months!

Brian and others. I have just spotted some Noblaie downtown so I am pretty excited as we do not see too many Chinon reds here. 3 on the shelf....>
