WTN: A nice vouvray with Brother James' fish

by Tom N. » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:58 pm

Pale straw color. An expressive nose of tropical fruit, especially pineapple, with a hint of green apple. Tingles the tastebuds upon entry with bright acidity, grapefruit, peaches and a bit of sweetness. Nice medium long finish of fruit that ends with a light touch of grapefruit pit bitterness.
Nice match with pan fried/panko coated bass and bluegill filets from brother James, our last package, unfortunately. Also matched nicely with green tomato relish (acid to acid complementation).

Wine: 2008 Vouvray, Domaine de la Pouvraie. 11.5% abv. $15, I may buy more as I like this wine :) and it goes well with light freshwater fish.
