My experience with Geyserville is that they drink very well all through their fairly long lives. I've never had one, that is, that I regretted opening: until now.
Drunk out of a burg bowl because that's what my husband inexplicably chose and I didn't want to tell him he'd done wrong. Overripe nose of plum jam and a little spice, on the plate rich flavors of more plum jam, kirsch, nectarine and bramble but there's actually a hollow spot there and the liqueur-ish finish is tangled up in tannins. It's a monster which needs a lot more time--I won't touch another for at least five years when hopefully it will have shed some of this weight.
