And a wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Got home last night after a tough Intro to Fencing class and felt I needed a treat to go w/ my Oven-roasted RedRadishs and Basil/Aioli. Spied this tissue-wrapped btl. Hmmmm...one of my Screamin'Eagles or Harlans..that should fill the bill. Ripped off the tissue and opened....then noticed..huge mistake...one of thos CoroMendocino things. Oh well, supposedly that Hartlip guy knows something about growing grapes.
When this wine was first released & I tried it...I liked it well enough...but just that. Thought it a bit on the simple side. Well....this wine has really evolved into something very/very nice...much better than I'd ever expected. Shows how little I know about wine's evolving...guess I'd better leave that job to the experts in Monktown.
Only downside is that the wine is closed w/ a SupremeCork. In retrospect...maybe not the best thing for this wine aging in the btl.
Haven't heard much from the CoroMendocino folks in some time. Don't know if they're still up&running or not.
The original price was up there in the low-$30's I recall. Since I have 3 more btls, this is one I must have bought at a great price that Casey blew it out the door.

Great minds think alike; and so do we. I just popped open a bottle of this a couple of days ago and I agree, it's in a nice place. I suspect it will get even better for a few years, as long as the cork holds up. My notes were somewhat similar to yours, although I picked up a smoky-meaty Syrah tone as well.
