77% Zinfandel, 17% Carignan, 6% Petite Sirah. Nose of coffee and a little sawdust. Lots of smoke. 30 minutes later some butterscotch as well. Juicy berry, ripe. High alcohol at 14.6% but no heat. Feels rather light and forward. Good balance, dried herbs. Good balance and length but seems rather simple compared to the bottles I had last year. Could this be shutting down?
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
