Darting Dürkheimer Spielberg Scheurebe Spätlese 2008

The initial aromas of this wine bring to mind NZ Sauvignon Blanc and I´m reminded how long it´s been since I´ve tasted one. The nose is of only the ripest gooseberry torte, grapefruit, peach even (no cassis that I can discern), lemon grass and bay leaf. Succulent and juicy acidity brings freshness and length. That´s a whole lot of fun for 7€!

Cheers,
Bill

Great times indeed! It is absolutely crazy. Beating Spain could do a lot to rectify the ´08 Euro Cup loss too. The whole thing has in fact done wonders for the patriotic self-loathing that many Germans ascribe to. I could write a book about that particular curiosity!

Cheers,
Bill
