2009 Benovia Pinot Noir Rosé Russian River Valley
Really liked this when we tasted it at Benovia Winery a few days ago with Bob Mosby, so we bought a few bottles (some to take back, some to open while in CA). Liked it even more when sitting down and enjoying a few glasses; full of cherries, melon and red berried fruit with a touch of salinity on the back end. There's really nice acidity that keeps this very fresh and elegant with a faint tartness on the back end. Killer value at $18; glad to have more of this.
2008 A.J. Adam Dhroner Hofberger Riesling Spätlese
Boom! Explosive fruit, florality, mineral depth underneath and fantastic acidity, balance and length. This never disappoints.
2004 Emrich-Schönleber Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen Riesling Spätlese
Perhaps the best bottle I've had yet; bright fruit tinged with smoke, petrol and floral notes over a stony mineral base with lots of depth and fantastic balance, elegant with a sense of restrained power and serious length. Fantastic wine!
