FYI: Bassins has the '08 Halenberg on sale right now.. (they also have the '09 Felseneck and Felseneck GK at some pretty low prices)
Great timing - this email came from Bassin's today:

We are pleased to be the first kids on the block to offer a pre-arrival on some of the greatest wines being produced in Germany today. While the wines of Schafer Frohlich are by now probably familiar to many of you, for those who haven’t tried one of these ethereal Rieslings-you are missing the boat!
This estate has been in business since the 1800’s, but in the last few years young superstar Tim Frohlich has taken over the winemaking and “rocketed” Schafer Frohlich into Germany’s elite. This was validated recently by the authoritative German wine guide Gault-Millau who named him “winemaker of the year”. The flagship wine for the estate is the Bockenauer Felseneck, and we also have the 2008 offering from the famed Monziger Halenberg here as well. This is of course one of Germany’s great sites and MacArthur Beverages is the only store in the USA currently offering this wine for sale. As you can see, these are the lowest prices in years on these wines. These prices border on the “ridiculous” as you are getting age-worthy world class white wine for a song!
Expected arrival Mid-July.
Prices are pre-sell only and will increase when wine lands in the store.
Limited quantities.

2008 Schafer Frohlich Monziger Halenberg Riesling SpatleseFresh lime, strawberry chiffon, and alkaline as well as lightly fermentative notes in the nose of Frohlichs’ 2008 Monzinger Halenberg Riesling Spatlese completely set the tone for a delectable palate that is both refreshing and seemingly lighter than air, lusciously red-fruited and distinctly mineral. Citrus zest, black tea, and brown spices add to the allure of a wafting, soaring finish. I would personally opt to sock-away this 7.5% alcohol wine simply on account of its youthful sweetness being so forward, but it’s admittedly delightful already. I wouldn’t worry about 15 years in the cellar, and perhaps that will turn out to be conservative. I have devoted a lot of attention to the wines of the Frohlich family and the emergence of Tim Frohlich as one of Germany’s star wine makers (see for instance my accounts in issues 161 and 167), and by now I am surely not the only wine writer to be almost tapped-out of superlatives. But the hits just keep coming, and the 2008 vintage Schafer-Frohlich collection represents another amazing achievement. 91 pts. David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate
