DOC

Dark purple in the glass.

Perfumed, raspberry, spicy, cherry and chocolate on the nose.

Medium weight, very hard, with bitter and drying tannins, some spicy cherry fruit, chocolate, quite drying. With time, the wine did open up a bit but the strong tannins persisted.

Bitter, mouthpuckering, with some dried fruit, spicy and currants on the fairly long finish.

Perhaps this wine simply needed more time.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).

That bitterness does not indicate time would do good things.
