WTN: Clos de los Siete 2004

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Sep 09, 2006 7:05 pm

Mendoza.

Decanted.
Very dark purple.
Not much on the nose, a little bit of red licorice and a slightly maderized note.
Very soft, plush and silky in the mouth, cherry fruit, black licorice, hot alochol and a little rough toward the end.
Very short finish.
This is my first experience with this wine so am hoping-assuming this is an off-bottle. Would appreciate input from others.

It's a Michel Rolland wine, if that tells you anything. I describe Mnsr Rolland as a rockstar winemaker who flies around the globe making Parker cuvees, if you like that kind of thing, but that's just me :-)
Cheers,

Oh, I should have added that my sweet husband loves malbec, and the 02 and 03 Clos de los Siete were both guilty pleasures - slurpable, and good with red meat, but I didn't really want to tell anyone I was drinking it  No terrior, but nothing to pour out of one's glass, either
Cheers,

Niki
