WBR: Collio by Carlo Capalbo

by TomHill » Tue Jun 22, 2010 8:35 am

Finally got this book after nearly a year on back order:
Collio: Fine Wines & Foods from Italy's North-East by CarlaCapalbo.
Amazon:Collio

And what a little gem of a book this is. Just started last night; immediately went to Gravner & Radikon sections. Paperbook, glossy. Covers mostly wine producers, but also restaurants, wine shops, food producers. Certainly a niche book, but highly recommended.
Can hardly wait to finish reading it.

Thanks for the heads up. We could have used something like this last year in Cividale. Does it have anything on neighboring Slovenia?

Dan,
Alas...nothing on Slovenia other than a few photos looking at the mountains across the border.
Alas...the book covers only the tiny area of the Collio. There's a lot going on in some of the surrounding areas, including Slovenia, and I'd like to see her do a similar
book that is a bit broader in scope. For example, I'd like to see information on EmilioBulfon's wines, but he's just outside the Collio.
