2006 Domaine Jean Gardier 60% Syrah, rest Grenache and carrignane.

Smells (and tastes) of southern France. Strong garrigue, some brett (but not objectionable) grenache fruit really comes out in the strawberry and leather. Plenty of cherry fruit and some licorice as well. Very pleasant wine and less than $25, if I recall. Only ding might be a bit of heat on the nose, but not too bad. I love wines from this region!
