Well hopefully the potential new law won't pass.

Supposedly there is influential objection (think much of California delegation) against it.

David,
Hopefully it won't pass. Never the less, I sent nice letters to our Congressman and Senators urging them to vote against it and I will continue to be allowed to ship in 12 cases a month (as Nevada law currently stands). I know from posts that I have read on this forum, that other states have it worse. Has it ever got better anywhere?

From the article:
Chief Executive Officer Craig Wolf of Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America the company’s 2006 study showed 10 percent of teens either bought alcohol over the Internet or know a teen who did. A National Academy of Science survey in 2004 had similar results, he said.

So let me understand this. In a typical high school that has a class of 200 people where one person buys alcohol over the internet and tells his 4 best friends who in turn tell 4 people each I have just made the 10% cited with a single teenager? I love the use of numbers to justify a position.

Shaji, it has been several years now since North Carolina passed a law allowing for wineries to ship direct to customers in NC as long as the wineries pay a licensing fee and adhere to certain limitations. I have joined several mailing lists since the legislation was passed, so yes it is better now in NC than in the past. I believe the legislation was spurred by a couple NC lawyers who were wine lovers and who protested that restrictions went against the free commerce clauses.

Don't worry, even the extreme right wingers on the Supreme Court couldn't let such an obviously unconstitutional law go through. At least that is my take.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
