A guy mentioned Citron white wine to me, and said it was rather inexpensive and widely available and comes in a 1.5L bottle, but I have not been able to find it.
Does anyone know which wine this was?

Only Citron I know of are flavored vodkas. But Citra is a cheap brand that is widely available.

Citra makes the equivalent of Gallo wines - cheapo inoffensive wines that don't get in the way of the conversation. The basic Montepulciano takes the place vacated years ago by cheap Chianti (anyone else recall with fond memory the straw covered fiascos with candles in them), and the white Trebbiano is similarly bland but easily quaffable.
