2005 Jacques Prieur Beaune Champs Pimont 1er 13.0%
Heavy, ecologically suspect bottle. Rich and deep cherry aroma, lightly framed by oak. More wood than I'd like, ma non tropo. Good acidity, well balanced by fruit, satisfying texture and consistency. Alcohol civilized. Still primary, but not closed. Oak much less present in the mouth. Shows a whiff of modernity, but judicious. Marcia calls it "serious." Like a serious teenager, perhaps.
