2008 Mas de la Dame Rose', Provence, France

Warm weather called for this nice Provencal Rose' to accompany gnocchi and veal bolognese sauce and a platter of four cheeses (Maytag and Moody Blue, Chevre, and Red Spruce Cheddar from Wisconsin) at Taverna Corvino in Baltimore. I didn't catch the percentages, but grapes are Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. Soft, pleasant, dry with light berry flavors. orangey-pink or salmon color. Very nice. The restaurant manager said he got a good price because they want to move the 2008 wine to sell the 2009s.
Can be found for under $15 at some wine shops.

Maytag is making cheese now? These large corporations do everything!!!

Great note Jane. I really hope I can catch up with you this summer, but it is looking like the summer of my discontent.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

I may try to do a three-day trip to DC in the fall. Nothing certain at this point.
