WTN: 2005 Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Auslese

by David M. Bueker » Wed May 26, 2010 7:31 am

On another site (yes, I am fickle) I was recently lamenting that most 2005 Germans seem quite closed down now. Last Friday Laura and I shared one with some friends that was not. The 2005 Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Auslese was firing on all of its youthful cylinders. It's decidedly peachy in flavor profile, but also full of all sorts of other fruit and stone related flavors. The finsh was incredibly clean, but long at the same time - no thickness just persistence. Amazing stuff, and the 1/2 bottle was gone in 5 minutes or so.

This is why Donnhoff needs to bottle more Auslese in 750s! Sounds great (but it's Donnhoff and Brucke, so that's just stating the obvious. ;))
