2001 August Kesseler Rüdesheimer Berg Schloßberg Riesling Spätlese Goldkapsel
This is developing well, though it still has time to reach the mountain top. There's plenty of fruit, but also a background creaminess that hits mid-palate and is then swept away by finishing acidity. The sweetness is prominent but balanced. I would have no issue drinking lots of this now or holding it 5-10 more years to see where it goes.

I have the 05 of this, was recently pondering that matchwise I have no clue how to use- I assume more like an Auslese? I'm guessing the 05 will be a touch bigger/fatter than the 01.

I would expect the '05 to be much bigger, but August Kesseler does seem to maintain excellent balance in the wines.
