2003 Schloss Gobelsburg Riesling Alte Reben
Golden yellow color. Aromatics are somewhat advanced, with a honeyed & smoky overlay to the remaining fruit. There's a creaminess to the palate that expresses the original richness of the vintage, but it is soon overtaken by a stark minerality. There's also some heat showing on the finish, so I would drink sooner rather than later.

I avoided most 03 Austrians, but recently purchased a sale priced bottle of Hirsch Gaisberg. Plan on drinking very soon. Thanks for note, this sounds early maturing but not flabby, I hope for the same from the Hirsch.

Exactly. It was actually rather nice with food, but a little bit too alcoholic on its own.
