We drank half the bottle last night. I kept checking on it through the night as it sat in the glass. A tasty oak bomb. Sweet creamy fruit. Actually very nice balance for the style but the price is a bit of a joke. Will finish the bottle tomorrow night and give an update.
Actually we waited an extra night and then the wine also sat in my glass for about 4 hours. Really not much change as far as flavors developing. When I am craving this style of wine, this would certainly fit the bill ... but not the $$ bill. It is listed at 15.5% but the alch seemed to suit the wine. This is certainly young. I tried early, gave lots of air and the left for the next day. Very enjoyable and a lot of tannic and acid structure but otherwise it seemed to lack complexity. Admittedly it is very difficult to get past the oak, and I don't mind oak but this is oakity oak. I would have liked a little more concentration to match the oak. With the structure this wine should show improvement hence my score. (89 pts.)
Cheers!
