Very intense, pretty ruby-scarlet colour. Tart-cherry and almond nose with spice and oak accents coming in. Excellent acidity and structure right on the entry; very pleasant concentration, true to the genre. A big, warming wine, but in no way overdone. Refined and elegant with good staying power. Precise, well chiseled structure; grippy tannins and spicy astringency right into the finish. Warm, expansive finish; not drying in any way.
A very good wine, and a good match for the grilled chipotle pork shoulder.
