How much does a wine locker in a restaurant typically run?

I was at a restaurant the other day that had these, but figured if I asked, the hostess would say "if you have to ask you can't afford one, and wouldn't want one any way.

What country are you living? That sort of answer should be banned out of hospitality business. She should answer your question the way she's supposed to, with an amount. Anything else has nothing to do with hospitality

You should have asked and not speculated on what the answer would be.

My impression from the only people I've known who had wine lockers at restaurants were that they paid nothing, it was a courtesy offered to very regular (and probably high spending) customers. I'd assume they'd pay corkage fees. Just ask

I read they lease them annually.

I'm sure some do, but just reporting what I knew of. I know that Morton's doesn't charge, but offer to their club members on first come basis.

THE Abe Froman? The sausage king of Chicago! I'm sure a person of your eminence would have no trouble securing a locker.

Go to the source--Lion d'Or-- in Arcins (Margaux) where only the most famous Chateaux have the precious cabinets (on display for the uninitiated). There are only about 25-30 of them and they will read like a who's who of the classified growths. But not to worry, there is no corkage fee, and the food (if you can get a reservation) is some of the best in the Medoc.
