From a producer who is new to me, and probably to most of us, since he just began several years ago bottling his own produce. Aurélien Verdet, whoose 2007/06 I've just had have been lovely wines, and something I think the Beaujolais lovers here could clasp. The Bourgogne Hautes-Côte-de-Nuits 'le Prieure' is a beautifully rendered simple Burgundy with a pale cherry-wash of a color, light cranberry and watered cherry, light spice aromatics. Drink now and hold for near term consumption. Preferred the 2007 for it's Mugnier-like pure freshness (the 06 felt a little duller in comparison), watermelon-strawberry flavors, and it's cheaper pricetag (mid-20's vs mid-30's). Both whispers of pure pinot. Can't wait to try his upper crus and watch his progress thru the coming years. Yes, he's still young, so hopefully I can follow him for a long time. solid B++
