Are you asking or telling? If you are asking, I will drink one and let you know.

I recently brought a case over to a friend in HK. They love this wine and said it was in a good place now. She has a pretty gosh darn good palate so I'm gonna trust her but I've never tried it myself. I suspect that she would say start drinking slowly and adjust rate as to your specific case and condition.

Covert, I was asking.

Michael, I need to be drinking my 99's (have maybe three left) but had a hankering to try the '00. Thanks for the tip.

Three bottles???!!!

God! I probably have more than 100 left. I lost my inventory list. God help me if there is a fire before I can ink another one. Maybe opening the 2000 Cantemerle will have to wait. :) Or I can quit my job - which I should do at my age, probably - and drink every night.

Covert, three 99 Cantemerles. Other than those, I have a few St. Ems, some Leoville Barton (which last I knew was still evolving) and mebbe one Gloria. I believe all the others are gone, though I had better look and make sure.

I meant three 1999's, which would still make zero sense since you have 2000 bottles or more total, and I know you like Bordeaux best...most of the time, anyway (knowing that sometimes you will like a Burgundy, or something else, best, or you would have all Bordeaux, like me). Tomorrow we are going out to a restaurant that put in an entire Bordeaux section on their wine list for Lynn and me alone - they had us stop by when the distributor was there to pick out our pied-à-terre wine cellar - because I complained about their limited offerings; so I can hardly bring a 1999 bottle there. That leaves Friday and Saturday to try a couple 1999s that I haven't drunk since 2002, for science. Maybe a GPL and a Branaire. If those are holding up, I will relax a little.

Oh...a shipment arrived today with three bottles of 2006 Cantemerle in it. I might have mentioned on the forum that I had the 2006 Les Alees de Cantemerle (or something close to that spelling - it's from memory) at the Park Avenue Bistro, in NY, natch, a couple of weeks ago and it was really nice. Got a case of those on their way. It's the only second wine I have tried that rivals the grand vin of a property. I'll have a test now.

I've been drinking my 2000 Cantemerle off and on for the last 3-4 years(with a 2-3 hour decant), and they've been delicious. Last year we had the "grand vin" with dinner and needed a little more wine (there were 4 of us) so we opened the second wine (2000 Les Alles des Cantemerle) and it was almost as good as the big wine. They can easily keep probably 5-10 years longer, but no need to wait.
