Alfredo Currado (of Vietti) has passed away.

I found the story on Franco Ziliani's blog "Vino al Vino" (but it is only in Italian); here is the news in English:

http://vinowire.simplicissimus.it/2010/05/02/alfredo-currado-78-venerated-and-beloved-producer-of-barolo-barbera-and-arneis-has-died/

I apologize for linking to another url. Currado was a very nice man; as many here know, he made outstanding Nebbiolo (from Barolo & Barbaresco) and Barbera.

Sad news indeed. I will have to open a bottle of 1982 Vietti Barolo in his memory.

This was sad news to hear.

I remember sharing many bottles of Vietti with friends I originally met here.

Thanks you Alfredo for adding so much to our lives.

Rest in peace.
