WTN: Sal'mon Groovey Gruner Veltliner 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Sat May 01, 2010 12:22 pm

Krems
Salomon Undhof

Light yellow in the glass.

Nothing much happening on the nose.

Light to medium weight, quite peppery, lemon, crisp, refreshing, lemon-grapefruit rind.

Peppery, mouthwatering on the finish.

A decent GV at a decent price.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $12.95 (Canadian).

A great, classic example of Gruner - have you had many others?

Hi Constance.

Yes, I have had the pleasure of enjoying a number of GV wines over the last few years. They appear to be gaining in popularity in Ontario and the government-controlled liquor monopoly has be featuring more of late.

I still believe that half a bottle should be kept for day 2. Amazing transformation in my books.
