It took some a few hours for this open a vein, but all of a sudden…peach, orange marmalade, coriander, pine, and exotic spices of dried ginger emerged. The aromas are still only nominally evolved and although the flavors are starting to weave a more intricate storyline, this is still in the opening chapters. I like that the acidity is still stoically holding its ground even as the overall texture relaxes a bit.

Right out of the glass is the hallmark saffron with candied orange, mace, and aloe hanging out with nectarine and an element of savor. This is a very exciting wine aromatically (I don’t even want to drink it!) The acid has retreated into the background on this one a bit, and the wine has really taken on a very pleasing creaminess (though it is not showing flaccidity.)
A good showing tonight, but both have long lives ahead. -BH
