WTN: Cafe Culture Pinotage 2009

WO Western Cape
KWV

Dark red in the glass.

Very smoky, coffee, charred, with a touch of band aid/antiseptic notes on the nose.

Thick in the mouth, smoky, tangy, cherry, raspberrry, currrants, a little bit of band aid, good acidity, charred notes, chocolate, very rich, becoming a little sharper with time.

Charred and mouthwatering on the finish.

An extreme style that I can see some people loathing. For my part, I enjoy this wine, but I wouldn't want to drink it regularly.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).

THis is KWV's take on the popular coffee'n'chocolate style Pinotage of which there must be half a dozen different brands
