Cracked this last night w/ my Fennel Bisque:
1. EdmundsStJohn Roussanne TablasCreekVnyd/PasoRobles (14.5%) Intuition&BlindLuck 2004: Med.gold color; some minerally/chalky very strong ripe/floral/Roussanne/honeysuckle slightly nutty/hazelnutty/waxy/figgy/Rhonish slight valve oil some complex lovely nose; quite tart rather minerally/chalky slight Mosel/valve oil some Roussanne/floral/honeysuckle/rich/lush bit closed quite structured flavor; rather long minerally/chalky/valve oil slight nutty/hazelnutty/Rhonish light floral/honeysuckle/Roussanne fairly acid rich/lush finish w/ some complexity; seems a bit closed down but starting to develop that rich/hazelnutty/old Rhonish character; will be terrific in a few yrs.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I'd not had this wine in almost 3 yrs now. Originally, it was a huge fruit Roussanne w/ lots of richness but an underlying acidity & structure that suggested to me it had a long life ahead. It seems a bit tight/closed right now, but is starting to develop those secondary/old Rhonish/hazelnutty character that makes these wine so special. I see no reason that it won't still go out another 6-10 yrs.
Good job by that Edmunds guy. Can hardly wait to meet his new marketing director. VaVaVoom!!
