2007 Alesia Syrah Fairview Ranch Vineyard (Santa Lucia Highlands)
Just bordering on blueberry milkshake on the nose, this pulls itself together with a more linear expression on the palate that avoids any trace of heaviness. It's interesting that a wine so ripe/rich on nose can be this elegant, but that's what can happen with excellent grape growing and wine making that is the equal of the fruit.

This actually stings like a bee then floats like a butterfly.

Do you think it will continue to hold that delicate balance as it ages? That is another difficult trick.
