Until 2008 (someone knowledgeable will hopefully fill in the few missing details and correct any other mistakes I've made) Pépière's Cuvée Eden was made from two plots: one with Gneiss soil in the famed Les Gras Moutons and another plot, whose name I didn't hear mentioned, also of Gneiss instead of the Granite in the other Pépière wines. But when Ollivier was able to increase his holdings in Les Gras Moutons from 2ha to 3,5ha, he decided to make his famed Cuvée Eden entirely from the famed Les Gras Moutons - so does this count as a super-super Muscadet?

It certainly tastes super. Lovely, leesy, citric, marine aroma; good richness despite being a leaner year, lovely acidity, electric and invigorating. Fuck me this is good.
