WTN: S.A. Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett 2002

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Apr 08, 2010 6:59 pm

Mosel-Saar-Ruwer

Fairly bright yellow in the glass.

Petrol on the nose.

Light to medium bodied, apple, a hint of peach, intensely honeyed, a touch of botrytis, light petrol, over-ripe fruit, viscous, light acidity.

Green apple and mouthwatering on the finish.

A rich, luscious wine that comes off as more of a Spatlese, than a Kabinett. And all this with an incredibly low 8 per cent alcohol!!

Purchased at $23.55 (Canadian).

Hi Bruce,

This sounds like a nice wine. This year I bought a horizontal of 2007s from this vineyard. Two kabinetts and a spatlese from Selbach-Oster, Max ferd Richter, and Studert-Prum respectively. I think these three wines will make a nice tasting some day.
