WTN: Les Terrasses Malbec 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Apr 08, 2010 8:47 am

AC Cahors
Rigal & Fils

An 80-20 Malbec/Merlot blend.

Rich purple in the glass.

Drying, grainy on the nose.

Medium bodied, roasted-burned notes, mouth-puckering dryness, very hard and tannic, no discernable fruit.

Drying, tannic on the finish.

I kept thinking this wine would "come around" and open up just a bit, but it never did. One local wine reviewer noted the wine was "Pleasant and ready to drink", so I don't really know what's going on here.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).
