NV Pinon Vouvray Brut
Crisp, appley, minerally and clear but with a slightly creamy round deep middle that provides some flavor flecks to pique my interest. Nothing to ponder, but an elegant way to pour bubbles down one’s throat. I plan to do it again in the near future!
2001 Huet Vouvray Pétillant Brut
For the first few hours this was cranky and unpleasant. I thought the bottle was somehow damaged and opened something else in the meantime. So then imagine my surprise when the rocky austere chalky woolly Vouvray Pétillant elegance came together and began to play nicely in the mouth. I was happy. As everyone has noted, not as golden glorious as the 02, but this was worth the drinking.
