In spite of tasting notes to the contrary, I do believe the '03 Cantenac Brown (Margaux) has turned out to be an interesting wine and, like a lot of other '03's, is drinking nicely now. Maybe this is a quirk of the vintage (no one knows how these wines will perform). This wine opens up (after a 2 hour decant) to be an earthy, feminine wine with resolved tannins and a pleasant finish. Classic Margaux, 89-90 points. I think Chris C. would be surprised how this wine turned out. I know I was, picking up three of these on close-out for $18. Alas, my last bottle, but delicious with chicken pot pie.
