WTN: Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon 1991

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Mar 27, 2010 1:20 pm

Napa Valley
Dunn Vineyards

Decanted about 30 minutes before dinner.

Incredibly dark purple in the glass.

Earth, mushroom, forest floor, barnyard on the nose. I just love rich, earthy, dirty aromas on the nose.

Medium weight, black and red cherry, a sort of mint-medicinal thing going on, black olives, tarry, leather, but with a sharper and more tart edge than previous bottles. Also lacking a bit of the roundness, weight and richness I recall from my previous experiences with the 1991 Dunn wines.

Tangy and mouthwatering on the finish.

Obviosuly, a slightly flawed bottle, but still yummy.
