WTN: Old (vines) school with Chevillon

2002 Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges Vieilles Vignes
Grabbed a bottle of this from the cellar to help settle a question about Chevillon's bottlings (not that it really settles anything), and inevitably had to pull the cork. This is by no means mature, but it sure it delicious, and while it maintains that NSG rusticity that just gives it extra character to go along with fairly plush fruit and developing aromatic complexity. The bottle has only been open for a few minutes, and it's already a very happy wine.

Holding up admirably on night two. It's less rustic, but also less aromatic. I preferred it last night, but tonight is not bad at all.

thanks for notes.
I thought I had this, but only 2002 Chevillons I'm showing are several Chaignots.

The only other 2002 I have is the Roncieres. I thought the wines were awfully expensive back then. Little did I know... :?

Thanks for the note, David. I've got one left of this in the cellar. I've also got a few other '02 Chevillons, but don't recall which ones (Vaucrains, maybe?).

I have a couple from 2004--hope they don't suffer too bad a case of the "green meanies."
