WTN: German Pie for Pi day

Wasn't sure what to expect from what's normally one of my favourite Mosel Spätlese with Bruno Schmitt retiring from the winemaking with the last vintage; the bottle this year's a little taller and heavier than before with a new label (that makes mention of the 100 year old ungrafted vines on the front), but the wine's still amazing.

Holy crap is this good. Gorgeous fragrance the moment the cork was pulled; fresh limes and herbal elements, and this is really delicious - full of minerals and bright green fruited flavours, very light on its feet, just a hint of sweetness with bracing acidity and a minty, herbal finish that just stays.

Glad it was good. I am interested in what Carl Loewen is doing with the estate.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for this?
