2008 Eugen Müller Forster Ungeheuer Riesling Spätlese trocken "Z" (Pfalz)
Fresh, slightly tart pear and cucumber flavours over a bed of intense rocky and salty mineral notes with herbal, chamomile and faintly floral accents emerging with air. Very precise and light on its feet, though it's a little austere on the back end but really nice value. Opens up really nicely after a day in the fridge, becoming more generous in the mouth and developing a nice minty aromatic profile as well.
Really good value at around $25 (makes me think of a more reasonably priced Keller von der Fels), and I highly approve of the glass stopper closure.

I have not had a Eugen Muller wine in a long time. I used to buy the auslese regularly, but do not see it anymore.
