WTN: Negoce Chave ('97 Offerus)

1997 Chave St. Joseph Offerus
Good stuff in the prime of life. It's not profound, but it has enough of those leathery/bacon-y Syrah characteristics to hold interest & make a great partner to a freshly grilled burger with grilled onions. There's still some black cherry fruit, and the tannins are not overwhelming. Firm acidity keeps it all fresh.

Got Chave on the mind already? ;) Sounds very nice; both the wine and the dinner.

The Offerus has been in the drinking queue for about 2 years. I finally got to it.
